Thursday evening, march 30, 1939, at

A :ommun cation was received from Mr. Carl
Anderson to the effetot that xr. Bryce Muir had
dropped his request to rezone lot 14 on :apuchino
Avenue for business, but asked that the matter be
postponed for 30 days as Mr. Helzel desired to
continue his application to rezone lot f 3.
In view of the withdrawal of one of the applicants
and the fact that Mr. He13el stated that he was no
longer represented by mr. Anderson, the Commission
voted to deny the joint petition in total. or.
Helzel, however, gave notice that he would file a
now application to rezone his property at the
xext meeting.
In connection with the proposed opening of vinette
Avenue, or. F. Schroeder, owning property therein,
said that he opposed it. The Chairman told him
the matter was not under discussion.
A petition was received from mr. L. K. Howe,
Wiring to operate a teas Service Station on the
North-easterly corner of Uak Grove Avenue and Bay
shore Highway, lots 5 and 6, block j1, subdivision
fl, Ba.yshore Land Gompany.
The petitiner claimed that the property mentioned
constitutes the only true artery from Bayshore
Highway to El Camino steal which lies Borth of
Burlingame avenue and south of Broadway, and the
most suitable for such a station;'and further asks
that said lots be so classified as to permit the con=
struction of such a Uas Station theriou.
Mr. Hoig and Mr. E. E. Simeon, with whom Mr. Howe
has entered into a contract of sale :for the lots
mentioned, supported the application.

Der. W. 0. Fang, owner of the opposite property,
described as block Q, stated that,he was not
objecting to the petition, but gavq notice that
if granted, he would also ask thatrhis property
be given the same consideration.., ghe application
of Mr. Howe was tentatively denied.
A request from mr. John kidd to build an Apartment
over a garage at 1045 Paloma avenue was denied.
The Uommission reiterated its former stand by
denying the application of grs Emma & Robertson,
to build a Duplex on a lot on sdgehill Drive.
The Chairman of the San Mateo Planning ;ommission,
Air. Korman T. Oie, attended the meeting as a
visitor. ;several matters of mutual"interest were
formally disclosed.
The meeting adjourned a 10:30P. M.
