A Special Meeting of the Planning Oommission was
held in the City Fall, Burlingame, on Thursday
evening, August 4, 1908. The meeting was called
for the purpose of framing a resolution recommend-
ing the :zoning Ordinance be amended to i5c1ude a
First Residential Zone and a Second Residential
Zone. The resolution, as adopted, is as follows: -
"Resolved: That the Planning Commission recommend
amendment to the <Aning Ordinance as follows:
(1) That the Ordinance be broadened to enclude
a First Residential Zone and a Second
Residential Zone.
(2) That the axisting .Residential provisions
shall apply to the First Residential !one.
(3) That the Second Residential Zone shall be
restricted by the following; provisio:s:
A- Set -back provisions shall be the same
as for the First Residentil Zone.
B- Residence shall 0 limited to not more
than two (2) families lining independ-
ently of each other on any one lot.
Not more than one living structure
shall front the street to each 50 foot
frontage of any one lot.
P- Igo separate living structur9 shall be
erected in the rear of inoth,r unless
the depth of the lot 3xoeeds 150 -Feet.
E- When one structure is built in the rear
of,_ nothar,,the spare between buildings
shall be not less than twenty feat; the
space between rear living structure
and rear lot line shill be not less
than twenty f et and ,a of ;ar side yard
space of not lass than tan fret in
width shall extand from streat to roar
structure for driveway purposes.
For the Resolution: Macomber, Coleman, Mitchell,
Rapp, and Macdonald. ;bs#nt: Miss Rogers. Other
Members present: C. L. Songson, James Watson.
Original Copy of this resolution was attached to
the final report on the "Oorbitt : ubAivision''
recommendation.
Other matters formally discussed:
(1) That the building; of residan.as in the
Industrial Districts should ba :oniined to
offices on use of Oaretakers.

(2) Fix path: fax use of commuters south of
Broadway Station.
(3) That :a nominal fee should accompany p 3
petitions calling for changes in class-
ifioa,tion.
A letter was read from Mr. Merks adressed to the
Chairman recommending the attitude of the: 3om-
mission in opposing Auto courts in the residential
area.
It was proposed that in view of the Holiday
Season that the next meeting be held on September
29, 1908.
The meeting convened at 7:30 P. M. and 4djourned
at 9:00 P. M.
