HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1253ORDINANCE N0. 1253 ORDINANCE PROVIDI140 FOR INCREASE IN COUNCILMEN'S SALARY The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame does ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. Section 2.04.030 of the Burlingame Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "2.04,030 Salary. (a) PURPOSE. This section is enacted pursuant to Section 36514.2 of the Government Gode of the State of California authorizing increases in Councils' salaries beyond the amounts based on City population. (b) SALARIES, Each member of the Council shall receive as salary the sum of three hundred dollars per month. It shall be payable from and after the operative date of the ordinance codified in this section, at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries paid to other officers and employees of the City. of the City (c) REIMBURSEMENT. The salaries prescribed herein are exclusive of '.any amounts payable to each member of the Council as reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred by him in the performance of official as are duties. (d) OPERATIVE DATE, This section becomes operative only as may be on and after the date one or more members of the Council becomes eligible by virtue of beginning a new term of office following the next general municipal election." Section 2. Section 3,08.050 of said code is amended to read as follows: 3.08.050 Compensation.. The City Clerk shall receive as compensation for the performance of such duties 3, as are prescribed in Sections the Government Code such salary as may be established Government by resolution of the City Council. The resolution provide for a lesser compensation if the person holding the office is also a full time City employee, The City Clerk shall be relieved of financial and accounting duties, including all such duties imposed upon the City Clerk by 'Chapter 4, iby Part 2, Division 3, Title 4 and by Sections 40802 to 40805 of the Government Code of the state. Financial and accounting duties shall be performed the Director of Finance along with such other duties as are prescribed." -1- Section 3. Section 3.12.030 of said code is amended to read as follows: "3.12.030 Compehsation. The City Treasurer shall receive as compensatic fOr the performance of such duties as are prescribed in the Government Code such salary as may be established by resolution of the City Council. The resolution may provide for a lesser compensation if the person holding the office is also a full time City employee. The Director of Finance shall assume all nonstatutory duties heretofore performed by the Treasurer." law. Section 4. This ordinance shall be published as required by V Mayor I, EVELYN H.
