ORDINANCE REQUIRING SMOKE DETECTOR ALARM
SYSTEMS IN HOTELS IN C-1 ZONE
The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME does ORDAIN
'as follows:
Section 1. All hotels or apartment hotels in the C-1
(first commercial) zone using construction materials other than
(type I or II, shall have a smoke detector alarm system installed
';in all common hallways and lobbies.
Section 2. These detectors shall be part of a system
'which upon activation shall indicate local alarms of sufficient
'!size

to be
audible throughout the
building. In
addition, when
this
alarm
is indicated it shall simultaneously
retransmit an
arm to an approved central station.
Section 3. Installation of this system shall be in
',!accordance with recognized standards. .Prior approval shall be
I'lobtained
from the Fire Department.
Section 4. Every hotel or apartment hotel existing in
I,the C-1 Zone on the effective date of this ordinance shall conform
to the above requirements not later than September 1, 1984.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be published as required
by law.
