This meeting was called for the purpose of holding a
tentative hearing on petitions filed asking for Change of
classifications of certain properties as follows:
No. I: From Mr. E. J. Miller to rezone from residential
to business, lot at 1000 Oak Grove Avenue, corner of
Linden Avenue. Objections to the proposed change were
made by Mr. L. S. Suber, 734 Linden Avenue , J. F.
Farren, 734 Linden Avenue, Mr. Thompson, 712 Linden
Avenue, and others, chiefly on the grounds that Oak Grove
Avenue was too narrow atd would be a hazard of accident
to pupils attending the High School.
Mr. Miller stated the lots had a frontage of 75 ft., and
the fact that it was the only lot not in the business
zone it detracted from its use as a residence and should
be zoned for business, also that Oak Grove Avenue would
eventually be widened which would eliminate much of the
danger claimed by the objectors.
No. II: From certain property, owners on Chapin Avenue,
between primrose and E1 Camino deal, asking that the
entire block be razor -d from Apartment to business. ido
objections ware made to the proposed change from the
audience. Favorable comments were made by .rs. Irene
Farrell, -Mr. Crosby, 11r. Delehanty and others. it was
claimed if put in business it Gould divert traffic to
C1tapin Avenue which would releave the conjestion on
Burlingame Avenue.
The question of widening Chapin Avenue if put in business
was discussed as well as the advisability of creating
an alley. Action on this propositioE was also drferred
until such time as a,preliminal°y survey could be made to
ascertain the probable cost of widening the Avenue.
