HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin - PC - 1937.12.09City Planning Commission Burlingame, California December 9, 1937 A special meeting of the Planning Uommission of the City Of Burlingame was held in the City hall'on Thursday even- ing, December 9, 1937. The meeting was'. called to order at 8:00 P. M., Jas H. Mitchell pr�3sidix9'. Other members present were: H. P. Vollmer, :piss Janata,. Rogers, Dr. H. Wade Macomber, Jae Watson, U. L. Longson and C. Macdonald. This meeting was called for the purpose of discussing the matter of changing the classification of property owned by the Catholic Churoh,.who wanted the set"back changed to 5 ft. for the School building, instead of 15 ft. set -back. This has reference to a letter from Thomas io. Millet, Pastor of St Catharines Church, dated November 15, which was given to Mr. Mitchell through Mr. Bloom and read at the meeting of the Planning Commission on November 23, 1937, it being the opinion of the Uommission that by making minor changes in the plans th!3 building could be built without the necessity of change- ing the zoning ordinance and without any detri- ment to the school, so it was arranged with mr. Bloom to ask the Archtact , Mr. H. A. Minter, to be on hand. Mr. Minter was present and the intent of the meeting explained to him b the ::kairman. Mr. Minter stated that anything could be ranged, but for the purpose of the school that the plan as drawn was the way the Owners wanted it and according to instructions given him, sad therefor, he had no power to alter them or to make any changes but that he would take the matter up. sar. Mr. Mitchell was asked to writs a letter to the Council to the effect that it would establish a,precident. December 16, was set as the date to hear arguments on Apartment Court proposed to be built 6n'ths nayshors Boulevard, lots 3-4-5. block j16, gear Winchester Drive, as requested by the City Council. . Mr. E. J. Miller invited to speak on changing to business zone his property at the _corner of Uak Grove and Linden Avenues, stated that he could have secured more signatures to support his petition if he had thought it necessary to go further than his immediate neighboors.
