S TING-Minutes
Special Meeting of the Planning Commission called at
the re-uest of the City Counoil,on December,16th,1937,
for the purpose of hearing expressions of opinion from
property owners concerned on the proposed erection of an
Apartment court on the Bayshore Boulevard As per applicatign
submitted by Mr.F.3.Laak,S-A Francisco. Mdmbers present:,
Mitohe11,Vollmer,Macomber ,Rogors,Mayor d-WIllives,D-vis,
L03agson,Macdonald; also Councillors Buck ana Hunt.

Chairman Mitchell in opening the meeting explained for
calling same . A petition in favor of the project signed
by property owners was submitted by Mr.Hoig,part ownwer
of the property involved. So-Ver-1 people in the audienos
took part in the disoussion-some in favor ^nd some :.g=airs+
granttgga permit.
Those opposed oL imed that building for trPi-nsient 000uPanoy
would be objectionable to the local oommunity and that the garages
would be exposed to t.4e view of oert-in residents on
Winchester Drive. Those favorable st&tad to grant permission
would mean more work to local Mechanics -ind Laborers as
well as to help lessen the burden of taxation.
The Architect of the apartment court stated that the buildings
complied in evey parti•oular with apartment house regulations.
Mr Hoig also claimed that his company has 10,000 felt of
frontage on the Highway that has bgen on sale for the past
12 years and have only 12 000upanoies.to date.
At the conclusion of the open meeting the Commission
reoovened and decided it would be best to convey the
result obtained to the City Council at ajoint meeting
at a date to be fixed by thel,Council.
The Sdoret-ry was instructed to inform the council to that
effect.
