Mr. U. H. narger appeared before the commission seeking
permission to change the frontage of two lots at'
Adeline and vancouvier. He was advised to interview
r owners of adjoining property and ascertain their
attitude in the matter.
In discussing the question of trees it was generally
agreed that some replanting would be advisable, and
that a more uniform plan be adopted in their selection,
that each atreet, or perhaps a series of streets, the
same type of tree only be applied. where trees are
removed for cause Mr. Anderson advises that rroperty
uwners seldom use the proper type of tree in making
replacements.
A motion was made and carried that the council be asked
to appoint a committee, composed of two citizens, having
knowledge of trees or trie planting, to act in an ad-
visory capacity with the superintendent of narks in an
endeavor to determine the species of trees best suited
for the purpose, also that the City assume full control
in making replacements, as well as of the cost incidental
thereto, in order to insure uniformity.
Where new pub -divisions are being developed it was the
conclusion of the Commission that the kind of trees to
be used as well as the distance apart should have the
approval of the ?ark Commission.
