HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin - PC - 1936.05.14Planning Commission Burlingame, California May 14, 1936 Special meeting of the Planning Commission held in the City Ball, Burlingame, on may 14, 1936. The meeting convened at 7:30 P. M. Chairmen J. H. Mijohell presiding. Other members present, Mayor C. A. Buck, City Attorney John F. Davis, City Engeneer C. E. Longaon, H. P. Vollmer, G. W. Coleman, Dr. H. Wade Macomber, C. Macdonald, and F. D. Anderson. Absent, Miss Yanet P. Rogers. The minutes of the meeting of April 30, were read and approved. The application of Amy G. Aubury, 1145 Laguna avenue asking to reclassify her property so that it may be converted into a dinning room and rooming house was given consideration. The Commission voted a tentative recom- mondation. Mr. Clay Helsel applied for permission to err-�ct a garage and.service shop on his property at 1149 Capuchino Avenue. The building to be of concrete and sheet iron. Twenty feet by fifty feet. The petition asks that the property be rezoned for business. Tentati��e approval was given by the Commission. It being the policy of the Commission to discourage sot or creeping -up zoning, it proposed to extend the business area on the south side of Broadway approximatily one hundred feet further, or the width of two or t:.ree lots as may be determined in order to straighten out the zone line from east to west. The area, invo.ved is included in the westerly half of the block number two, blocks number three and number four and in the easterly half of block number five excluding lots facing on E1 Camino Real. Final hearing on these projects to be held in the City Hall, Burlingame, on ThursGay evening May 21, 1936 at 7.30 P. M. A letter from Dr. Martin was read advising that his application to make alterations on the house located on the north-east corner off 31 Camino Real and Broadwgy� would contain one ApIrtment in place of two as originally intended. As the application was already approved by the Commission on March 26, no further a6tion was necessary. -2- Planning Commission --May 14, 1936 (oont*d) In the matter of widening Oak Grove Avenue, the Commission gave its approval. The petition signed by. eighty percent of the property owners, was ordered referred to the City Council. Dr. R. Wade Macomber submitted plans for a proposed alteration in a house located on the south-west corner of El Camino Real and Broadway. The conversion to consist of living quarters to be occupied by himself as a physician. The Meeting then ad joufted, but at the request of Dr. Macomber immediately rpconvened;- as he wished to have his ap#lication acted upon. The Commission approved the proposed alterations to the building. The meeting finally adjourned at 10:00 P. M. (signed) Chas Macdonald, Secretary
