HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin - PC - 1936.05.28City lanning commission Burlingame, May 28, 1936 The stated Meeting of the Planning Commission as of the month of May 1936 was held in the City Hall on Thursday evening May 28th the Meeting convened at the usual hour of 7:30 otclock P. M.- All Members present Special Buitness Final nearing on the proposed reolassifing of'property located at 1145 Laguna Avenue, owned by Mrs. Amy C. Aubury and of property located at 1149 Capuchino Ave., owned by Mr. Ulay helsel. W -The Application of Mrs. Aubury for permission to establish a Dining room and Rooming House at 1145 Laguna Ave encountered much opposition from meighboring property owners;'also protests by mail.. For this reason and the fact that there appears to be sufficient vacant business property now in the Broadway area to take care of business needs for some time to come the Coinmission voted not to recommend. W -The application of Mr. Clay Helsel for permission to erect a garage and work shop at 1149 Capuchino Ave was likewise denied for similar reasons. Owners of property in the immed- iate vicinity objeoting--to.the particular type of business; that the class of work would not bey suited for the particular location and that such butihess or world should be confined to a more appropriate locality. The usual prooeedure was followed before making thdse recommendations. Notice was posted at the City Hall as well as published in the local newspapers; alsib property owners immediately concerned were notified of the meeting by mail. A Communication from Mrs. Cecdlia L. Pinkham addressed to the Planning Commission under date of May 28, 1936, requesting the inclusion of her home at 308 E1 Camino Real in the business zone was denied. Tentative approval was given the emergency ammendment to the zoning ordinance initiated by the City Council. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 10:30 P.M Chas Maodm ald, Secretary
