The Planning Commission and City Council met in joint' session
at the City Hall, Burlingame, on Thursday evening June 4, 1936--
present Mayor C. A. Buck, Councillors High, Hives, Hunt, Ward:
Commissioners Mitchell, Vollmer, Macomber, Coloman, Macdonald,
and Miss Rogers: City Attorney Davis, and City Engineer C. L.
Longson.
The meeting convened at 8:00 P. M. James H. Mitchell, presiding.
Considerable disculsion developed in connection with the
application of Dr. Martin, asking permission to conduct a
Dental Office and to make suitable alterations to his home,
located on the Northwest corner of Broadway and El Camino Real,
to be used solely for his own use.
The Chairman announced temporary adjournment of the meeting,
while the Commission went into executive session.
At the executive meeting it was decided that the zoning ordin-
anoe be ammended. "That in the event of a professional�)party
being granted a permit and later giving up his residence that
it will automatically revert back to its original status, as
a single famil dwelling, also to add a clause to allow two
persons to conduct such proffessional business when they are
husband and wife and in the same profession."
This was announced on return to the Hall;and after Dr. Maktin
had agreed to make his application more specific the Commission
recommended that a permit be granted.

ment to the 2pAing-ordinance, and to hold a further hearing on
June 11, 19369
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 11:00 P.IL
