RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING 1982-1983 APPROPRIATION
LIMIT FOR CITY OF BURLINGAME PURSUANT TO
ARTICLE XIII B OF THE CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame
that:
WHEREAS, in November, 1979, the voters of the State of
California approved Proposition 4, the Gann Appropriation Limit
Initiative, which states that beginning July 1, 1980, all state
and local government budgets are limited to a formula based upon
the 1978-79 budget, plus adjustments for cost of living and
population changes, and specific exceptions for service charges,
federal and state grants, reserve funds, etc.; and
WHEREAS, the State Legislature adopted Chapter 1205,
Statutes of 1980,implementing Article XIII B of the California
Constitution; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the above the City of
Burlingame has prepared documentation establishing our 1982-1983
appropriation limit, and has made this documentation available to
the public for more than 15 days in the proposed budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby RESOLVED as follows:
1. For 1982=83 the City's appropriation limit is
$18,763,107;
2. The Adopted Budget for 1982-83 includes $14,712,201
in appropriations which are subject to limit, and estimates pro-
ceeds of taxes of $9,639,000,
3. For 1982-83 the City of Burlingame is within the
limits of Article XIII B of the California Constitution.

I, EVELYN H. HILL, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame,
do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced at
a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 21stday of
June 1982, and was adopted thereafter by the following
vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: AMSTRUP, BARTON, CROSBY, MANGINI, MARTIN
NOES: COUNCILMEN: NONE
