ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT
NO. 6 FROM CALIFORNIA DRIVE NORTH LANE TO
SANCHEZ-AVENUE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
lingame as follows:
WHEREAS, by Resolution 56-83, a public hearing was
(called for on Tuesday, July 5, 1983 at the hour of 8:00 p.m., in
Council Chambers in the City Hall, 501 Primrose Road, Burlingame,
ia, to ascertain whether the public necessity, health,
safety or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires
associated overhead structures, and the underground installati
wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication or
similar or associated service, within that certain area of the
;ity delineated upon the diagram marked EXHIBIT A and incorporated
said resolution by reference, and also attached to, incorporate
, and made a part of this resolution by reference; and
WHEREAS, notice of such hearing has been given to all
fected property owners as shown on the last equalized assess -
t roll, and to all utilities concerned, in the manner and for
time required by law; and
WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held,
all persons interested have been given an opportunity to be
ard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
e City of Burlingame that, pursuant to Chapter 12.16 of the
rlingame Municipal Code, the above described areas is hereby
clared an Underground Utility District and is designated as
derground Utility District No. 6 of the City of Burlingame.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Council does hereby
October 14, 1984 as the date on which affected property owners
st be ready to receive underground service, and does hereby order
removal of all poles, overhead wires and associated overhead
an
structures and the underground installation of wires and facilitie
for supplying electric, communication or similar or associated
service within Underground Utility District No. 6 on or before
December 16, 1984.
RESOLVED FURTHER,that the utility companies are hereby
requested to pay for the installation of no more than 100 feet of
each customers underground service lateral occasioned by the
undergrounding.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Clerk is hereby instruct
ed to notify all affected utilities and all persons owning real
property within Underground Utility District No. 6 of the adoption
of this resolution within ten (10) days after the date of such
adoption. Said City Clerk shall further notify said property
owners of the necessity that, if they or any person occupying such
property desire to continue to receive electric, communication or
other similar or associated service, they, or such occupant, shall
by the date fixed in this resolution provide all necessary facilit:
changes on their premises so as to receive such service from the
lines of the supplying utility or utilities at a new location,
subject to applicable rules, regulations and tariffs of the
respective utility or utilities on file with the Public Utilities
Commission of the State of California. Such notification shall be
made by mailing a copy of this resolution, together with a copy
of said Chapter 12.16 of the Burlingame Municipal Code, to affectec
property owners as such are shown on the last equalized assessment
roll and to the affected utilities.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Council hereby finds as
follows:
The underground utility district herein created is in the
eneral public interest for the following reasons:
1. The undergrounding to be accomplished will avoid or
liminate an unusually heavy concentration of overhead distribution
acilities: and

2. The streets, roads or rights of way in the district
are extensively used by the general public and carry a heavy
volume of pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
I, EVELYN H. HILL, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame,
do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced
at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 5th day of
July, 1983 and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
