BACKGROUND Each year the commissioner assignments are reviewed and modified as needed. As new committees are needed throughout the year, the Parks and Recreation Director asks the Commission Chair to appoint committee members from the Commission. The number of commissioners per committee will vary depending on the type and needs of the committee but cannot exceed three commissions due to Brown Act requirements. The current committees are: The Dog Advisory Group provides guidance to City staff regarding dog-related matters. The Committee is comprised of two Council Members, two Parks and Recreation Commissioners, and City staff. The group only meets if needed. The Field Use Ad Hoc Committee is comprised of 3 commissioners and staff. They are working with the field users to update the Field Use policy. It is anticipated that the policy update will be completed by summer 2025. The Pickleball Ad Hoc Committee is comprised of 2-3 commissioners and staff. The committee only meets as needed. Each non-profit field user organization, the Parks and Recreation Foundation, and the Burlingame Aquatics Club have one commissioner assigned as a liaison.
