1. Variance to allow a 413 SF addition to a home at
1617 Lassen Way which provides only one covered parking
space rather than two as required (APN 025-202-120), zoned
R-1, by Mary Dunlap (designer) for Frank and Noryne Best
(property owners and applicants).
2. Special Permit to construct a 572 SF garage at 2209 Hale
Drive which exceeds the code standards for maximum area and
placement of windows for an accessory structure (APN
027-165-200), zoned R-1, by John Underdahl (property owner
and applicant).
3. Special Permit to allow a credit union branch office in an
existing office building in the M-1 district at 840
Hinckley Road (APN 026-310-530), by Amfac Mainland Federal
Credit Union (applicant) with Aerobay Office Center
(property owner).
4. Special Permit to allow classes at 824 Edgehill Drive in
the C-2 district (APN 029-022-130), by David and Sharon
Cheek (property owners and applicants).
5. Parking Variance to allow construction of a 945 SF piano
classroom/studio at 824 Edgehill Drive which provides no
off-street parking (APN 029-022-130), zoned C-2, by David
and Sharon Cheek (property owners and applicants).
6. Use Determination for the proposed use of the second floor
of the building at 205 Park Road which has been vacant for
more than six months (Code Sec. 25.50.040/25.36.031), by
Joseph Karp (applicant) with Bay View Federal Savings and
Loan (property owner).
VI. ITEMS FOR STUDY
7. Fence Exception to allow construction of an 8' fence,
exceeding the 6' height limit, at 1457 Bellevue Avenue #3
(APN 111-035-030), zoned R-4, by Porter/Steinwedell
(architect) for Dale McClanahan (applicant and property
owner) with Bellevue Associates (Homeowners Association).

8. Variance to add two 1-bedroom apartments over an existing
apartment at 112 Anita Road which has existing,
nonconforming parking (APN 029-271-150), zoned R-3, by Mr.
and Mrs. Norman Karasick (property owners and applicants).
9. Special Permit to allow a 1600 SF office addition to an
existing building at 40 Edwards Court in which more than
20% of the gross floor area is used for office purposes
(APN 026-102-070), zoned M-1, by National Car Rental
System, Inc. (property owner and applicant)..
10. Review of the remainder of the General Plan Amendment for
certain areas within Burlingame and discussion of a Mixed
Use Designation.
