1. Special Permit to sell groceries, beverages and sundries at the ARCO service
station, 3 California Drive (APN 029-242-100), zoned C-2, by Ted Clausen of
Atlantic Richfield Company (ND-181P posted October 12, 1978) (continued from
October 25, 1978)•
2. Revocation of Special Permit approved March 23, 1970 to allow a family room
in an accessory building at 1859 Broadway (APN 026-181-230), zoned R-1, John S.
Gottsche (permittee and property owner) (continued from October 25, 1978).
3. Health spa, 1109 Burlingame Avenue: determination whether the proposed health
spa is similar to those uses permitted in the C-1 District (Code Sec. 25.36.020)
and unlikely to be obnoxious or detrimental to the neighborhood in which it
would be located.
4. Appeal of a decision by the Building Inspector that an existing electric meter
box must be moved to a new position on the house at 516 Marin Drive (APN 029-
082-170), zoned R-1, by Joseph P. Pennese.
5. Resolution No. 6-78 granting parking variance to California Teachers Association
for the property at 1705 Murchison Drive.

9. Audio/visual recording studio with live public entertainment several evenings
each week, 1157 California Drive: determination whether the recording studio
and its associated public performances are similar to those uses permitted in
either the C-1 or C-2 Districts (Code Sections 25.36.02.0 and 25.38.020) and
unlikely to be obnoxious or detrimental to the neighborhood in which Encore
Productions would be located.

10. Variance from Code Sec. 25.50.040 to reestablish a use! in a non -conforming
building which has been vacant for more than 6 months (an audio/visual recording
studio and public entertainments are proposed), 1157 California Drive (APN 026-
191-030/040), zoned C-2, by Terry Merritt of Encore Productions (applicant)
with Christine T. Masserdotti/Dillon (property owner).
11. Variance from Code Sec. 25.70.030 to remodel 2,850 SF of warehouse space into
office space in a building with substandard parking, 860 Stanton Road (APN 026-
302-440), zoned M-1, by William R. Benevento of Curley -Bates Company.
12. Special Permit to construct a 47,400 SF office building 42'-6" high in the
Burlingame Avenue Off -Street Parking District, 1440 Chapin Avenue (APN 029-

13. Special_Permit to operate an automotive repair shop in the M-1 District,
