HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 071-1989RESOLUTION NO. 71-89 RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE FOR CARPORT RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame that: WHEREAS, application has been made for variances and special permit to legalize existing garages and carport located at 1511 Newlands Avenue (APN 028-294-220) and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on said application on May 22 , 1989 , at which time said application was denied; WHEREAS, this matter was appealed to Council and a hearing thereon held on June 19 1989 at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written materials and testimony presented at said hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Council that a variance for lot coverage is approved for a 400 square foot carport at the rear northeast corner of the property, and the application is denied as to all other matters, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolution be recorded in the official records of the County of San Mateo. Mayor I, JUDITH A. MALFATTI, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 19th day of June 1989 , and adopted thereafter by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN: AMSTRUP, BARTON, LEMBI, MANGINI, PAGLIARO NOES: COUNCILMEN: NONE ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: NONE City Clerk EXHIBIT "A" Conditions of approval, variance to lot coverage, 1511 Newlands Avenue (APN 028-294-220) (effective June 20, 1989) Property owner: Antonio & Liliane Mariani 1300 Paloma Avenue Burlingame, CA 94010 1. that the two car and one car garage structures along the rear property line shall be removed and the existing two car carport at the northeast corner of the rear of the lot shall be replaced at a dimension of 20' x 20, no closer than 31 to side property line and constructed to meet all requirements of the Uniform Building Code and Uniform Fire Code; 2. that all demolition and new construction shall receive building permits and shall be completed within 90 days; 3. that the conditions of the City Engineer's April 25, 1989 memo shall be met; and 4. that the garage spaces shall only be used for parking the vehicles of tenants who live on this site and shall never be used or rented for storage or any other purpose.
