RESOLUTION APPROVING SIGN EXCEPTION AMENDMENT
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame
that:
WHEREAS, application has been made for a sign
exception amendment to allow a bayfront parapet sign
at 1800 Bayshore Highway (APN 024-380-080 ). (property
owner: Mutual Benefit/Marriott Associates -II, L.P., 290 Westminster
St., Providence, RI 02903); and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on
said application on April 22 1991 at which time
said application was denied;
WHEREAS, this matter was appealed to CitV Council and a
hearing thereon held on May 20, 1 1991 , at which time it
reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written
materials and testimony presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby RESOLVED and DETERMINED by
this Council that said sign exception amendment is approved, subject
to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
It is further directed that a certified copy of this
resolution be recorded in the official records of the County of San
Mateo. !�

Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
20th day of May 1991 and adopted thereafter by the

Conditions of approval, Sign
Exception Amendment, 1800
Bayshore Highway (effective
May 21, 1991)
1. that the 38' x 8' sign shall be placed on the parapet wall facing
San Francisco Bay at a height not to exceed 109' and shall not be
placed above the parapet wall;
2. that the new parapet sign shall be interiorly lit made of red
letters;
3. that should the name of the hotel ever be changed then the sign on
the bayside frontage shall be removed; and ki

4. that all the conditions of the June 17, 1985 sign permit shall
continue in effect as amended by the present sign permit N
