RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BURLINGAME APPROVING AN
AMENDMENT TO THE UNIFORM FRANCHISE AGREEMENT
WITH BROWNING -FERRIS INDUSTRIES OF SAN MATEO INC.
WHEREAS. this City Council has previously approved an
Agreement with Browning-Ferris Industries of San Mateo, Inc. (BFI)
known as the Uniform Franchise Agreement (the agreement) and
amendments thereto; and
WHEREAS, the City, and other members of the South Bayside
Transfer Station Authority (SBTSA) have entered into the agreement
with BFI for the construction and operation of a recycling
facility, and related programs; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend said agreements to extend
the term of BFI's franchise under the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, said amendment provides for extending BFI's term of
franchise from September 30, 1994 to September 30, 1999, with an
option for the City to further extend the term through September
30, 2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approves
the amendment so extending said franchise and authorizes the City
Manager to execute the same.

do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced at
a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 6th day of
December , 1993, and adopted thereafter by the following
vote:
