RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENTS
TO THE BURLINGAME GENERAL PLAN -
Edgehill Drive - California Drive Area
RESOLVED, by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF
BURLINGAME, California, that:
WHEREAS, California Government Code Sections
65,350 et sea. allow the amendment of a General Plan
pursuant to the procedures therein set forth, and
WHEREAS, the City Planner has presented a
recommendation regarding an amendments to the General Plan
concerning certain areas between Edgehill Drive and
California Drive, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission after public
hearings and due consideration has recommended that said
amendments be approved, and
WHEREAS, this Council has held a public hearing
upon such recommendation, due notice having been given as
required by law, and has considered the recommendation of
the Planning Commission:
NOW, THEREFORE, it is HEREBY RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Burlingame that;
1. All notices required to be given and hearings
required to be held by the Government Code have been given
and held in the form and at the time and manner prescribed
by law.
2. The proposed amendments to the General Plan set
forth in Exhibit "B" attached hereto are hereby approved and
adopted.
3. The City Clerk of the City Council be and hereby
is ordered to transmit to the Planning Commission of the
County of San Mateo a certified copy of this Resolution.

Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held
on the 5th day of February 1990, and was adopted
thereafter by the following vote:

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE GENERAL PLAN FOR COMMERCIAL -RESIDENTIAL
MIXED USE:

add to Goal 4, "to maintain and improve the quality of the
environment" page 5, h:
h. Provide an effective transition between retail
commercial and residential uses to strengthen the
residential character of the city.

following Waterfront Commercial section:
Commercial -Residential Mixed Use. This land use is composed
of retail commercial and multiple family residential uses
intended to create a transition between established retail
commercial and residential zones. It is intended in this
district that only residential uses may occur on a parcel,
or retail commercial with residential above, so that the
sense of residential activity is conserved. Retail uses
compatible with residential uses, however, can serve to meld
the adjacent wholly retail -and residential areas. Included
in this district are physically unique areas such as the
properties with double street frontage on Edgehill and
California Drives.

6. Encourage mixed commercial uses to provide a transition
between districts fully commercial or residential and
to provide housing opportunities for those dependent on
transit and desiring a pedestrian oriented living
environment.
