RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE AND SPECIAL PERMITS
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, application has been made for special permits
and variances for improvements to the accessory structure
at 1720 Sherman Avenue (APN 026-153-060), (Property owners:
David M. & A. R._Galle4os, 1720 Sherman Avenue, Burlingame. CA 940101:
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on
said application on April 27 , 1992 , at which time a parking
variance for one space, a special permit for an accessory structure to
exceed 500 SF (657 SF proposed) and a special permit for three
skylights within 10' of property line were approved with conditions;
and
WHEREAS, this matter was appealed to City Council and a
hearing thereon held on June 15 1 1992 , at which time it
reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written
materials and testimony presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this
Council that the Planning Commission's decision is upheld and said
application is approved, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto.
It is further directed that a certified copy of this
resolution be recorded in the official records of the Countv--o£--Sa-n
Mateo.

hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a
regular meeting of the City Council held on the 15th day of
June 1992 , and adopted thereafter by the following
vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: HARRISON, KNIGHT, LEMBI, O'MAHONY, PAGLIARO
NOES: COUNCILMEN: NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: NONE

EXHIBIT "A"
Conditions of approval, parking
variance and two special permits,
1720 Sherman Avenue (effective
June 16, 1992)
1. that the structure to the rear of the partition wall including the
bathroom (March 10, 1992 plans, page 6) shall be removed;
2. that the portion of the structure 31' x 21'-2" clear inside
dimensions shall be retained to be used for parking cars and the
special permit for three skylights within 10' of property line in
this area shall be approved;
3. that the project shall meet the requirements of the Chief Building
Inspector's and Fire Marshal's memos dated March 12, 1992;
4. that plans shall be resubmitted to the Building Department and
penalty fees paid within 90 calendar days of the effective date of
action on this application (September 12, 1992);
5. that the project shall meet all Uniform Building and Uniform Fire
Codes as amended by the City of Burlingame;
6. that the garage or any part of the accessory structure shall never
be used for living or residential purposes and should it be so
used this permit shall become null and void and the structure must
be demolished or remodeled to conform to the codes for on-site
parking at that time; and
7. that this approval shall be reviewed for compliance with its
conditions in one year (June, 1993) and every three years
thereafter or upon complaint.
