COLEMAN CDN ATTORNEY CITY OF BURLINGAME 301 PRIMROSE ROAD BURLING E,GUF.94010 RESOLUTION NO. 21 -94 ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame as follows: WHEREAS, it is the determination of this Council that procedures should be established for the appointment of members of City Commissions; NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby RESOLVED and DETERMINED that the following procedures shall govern the appointment of members of commissions of the City of Burlingame: Section 1. All persons desiring to serve on city commissions shall complete the application form provided by the city manager's office. Applications shall be accepted only for specific commission positions with deadlines established by the city council. Applications shall be accepted for at least a three week period following the announce- ment of a vacancy. Section 2. Applicants shall be interviewed for the specified commission by a committee of two council members. That committee may refer the application to a committee interviewing for vacancies on another commission. Section 3. All commissioner appointments shall be for a single term. Any desiring reappointment for a subsequent term upon the commission shall apply in the same manner as all other candidates. This provision shall not apply to a commissioner appointed to an unexpired term of less than one year. Section 4. The number of years in a term shall be as set forth in the city ordi- nances or state laws at the time of the term's commencement; this rule shall apply for both appointees to full terms and to fill vacancies in unexpired terms. CALIF. 94010 made at least three months prior to the expiration of a term; appointees shall be encouraged to attend all commission hearings and shall be provided all materials for commission meetings. They shall not, however, participate as commissioners until the official commencement of their terns. Section 6. This resolution supersedes all prior resolutions regarding commissioner terms.
