HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 081-1997RESOLUTION NO. 81_97 APPROVING CHIEF OF POLICE'S RECOMMENDATION FOR USE OF CITIZEN'S OPTION FOR PUBLIC SAFETY FUNDS IN FISCAL YEAR 1997-1998 RESOLVED, by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame, California, that; WHEREAS, Government Code Sections 30061 and following establishes COPS programs and appropriates state general funds for certain public safety programs for the 1997-1998 fiscal year; and WHEREAS, certain steps are to be taken by the city in order to be eligible for such funds: NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. As required by the Government Code, the City Council of the City of Burlingame held a public hearing at their meeting of October 20, 1997, to consider the written request from the Chief of Police for COPS revenues; 2. At said hearing the Council, by a majority vote of the quorum present, adopted the request for the Chief of Police, finding that funds requested were for front line municipal police services and community crime prevention programs; 3. Said funds are to be used for supplemental existing services as requested by the Government Code and shall not be used to supplant any existing funding for the Burlingame Police Department. f /-�?-o' MAYOR I, JUDITH A.
