RESOLUTION NO. 6-95
RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION
TEMPORARY TENT PERMIT AND PARIONNG VARIANCE FOR DIMENSION
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, a categorical exemption has been proposed and application has been made for a
temporary tent permit and a parking variance for dimension (24% compact) at 1333 Bayshore Highway,
Hyatt Hotel. APN: 026-112-140; property owner: HTKG Development Associates 301 Island Parkway;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on said application on December 12.
199 , at which time said application was approved;
WHEREAS, this matter was appealed to City Council and a hearing thereon held on January 18.
1995 , at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written materials and testimony
presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Council that:
L On the basis of the Initial Study and the documents submitted and reviewed, and comments received
and addressed by this council, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the project set forth
above will have a significant effect on the environment, and categorical exemption per Section: 15301 -
Existing Facilities Class 1(e), Additions to existing structures provided that the addition will not result in
an increase of more than 10,000 SF and the project is in an area where all public services and facilities are
available to allow for maximum development permissible in the General Plan, and the area in which the
project is located is not environmentally sensitive is hereby approved.
2. Said temporary tent permit and parking variance for dimension (24% compact) is approved, subject
to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. Findings for such temporary tent permit and

3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolution be recorded in the official records of the
County of San Mateo.

Conditions of approval categorical exemption, temporary tent permit and parking variance for dimension
(24 % compact)
1333 BAYSHORE HIGHWAY, HYATT HOTEL
effective JANUARY 18, 1995
1. that the tent as installed shall match the plans submitted to the Planning Department and date stamped
October 27, 1994, Sheet C -4T Tent Site Plan, Sheet 1 Tent Elevations and Plan, and Sheet A3.1 Hotel
Elevations;
2. that the conditions of the City Engineers' October 28, 1994 memo and the Chief Building Inspectors'
October 31, 1994 memo shall be met:
3. that all employees shall be encouraged to park in the off-site parking lot during non -office hours, when
all the parking spaces at the hotel site are full;
4. that the tent shall be permitted at this location as a temporary use for 10 years (2005);
5. that the Hyatt Hotel staff shall submit to the Planning Department, plans documenting all on site parking
within 60 days of this action; and
6. that the tent and its use shall meet all the requirements of the Uniform Building and Uniform Fire Codes
as amended by the City of Burlingame;
