ORDINANCE REVISING INSUP,ANCE REOUIREMET�iTS POR -TAXI CABS
AND REQUIRING FILING OF SAFETY CERTIFICATE
The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME does hereby
ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Section 6.36.060 of the Burlingame Municipal
Code is amended to read as follows:
"6.36.060 Safe Maintenance of Taxicabs - Inspection.
All public passenger vehicles for hire shall be under the super-
vision and control of the Chief of Police, and he shall not permit
any driver to operate any taxicab in the City while the same or
any equipment used triereon, or therewith, is unsafe, defective or
in an unsanitary condition, and every taxicab sl-iall be at all
times subject to the inspection of any police officer of the City.
Every taxicab shall be safety checked by an independent auto
se.r�.�ice or repair facility at least once every twelve months;
written proof of the safety check shall be carried in each vehicle,
and shall be filed with the City Clerk."
Section 2. Section 6.36.070 of said code is amended. to read
as follows:
"6.36.070 Insurance. Each owner shall carry liability
insurance in the amount of not less than one hundred thousand
dollars each person/three hundred thousand dollars each occurrence„
naming the City as additional insured.; such insurance shall kie
primary to all others. Evidence of current insurance shall be on
file with the City Clerk at all times." �
