RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
EXPRESSING CONCERNS ABOUT ENSURING THAT THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY
AND DELTA BE PROPERLY ADDRESSED IN THE CALFED WATER PLANNING
EFFORT
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY of BURLINGAME that:
WHEREAS, the San Francisco Bay is vital to the health and economy of Burlingame and the
entire Bay Area and is the City's front yard; and
WHEREAS, the health of the Bay depends on the health of the supporting Delta system;
WHEREAS, the flow of fresh water into the Delta and the Bay is key to sustaining the Bay
and Delta; and
WHEREAS, the State and Federal governments are struggling to find a comprehensive
approach to addressing the Bay and Delta and the needs of the State and Bay Area; and
WHEREAS, water conservation must be an element of any such program; and
WHEREAS, the City has strongly encouraged and subsidized water conservation among its
water users,
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved:
1. State and Federal officials involved in the CALFED process are urged to ensure that the
health and sustainability of the San Francisco Bay and Delta are protected by adequate flows of fresh
water.
2. State and Federal officials are urged to encourage and implement water conservation
measures to support these sustained freshwater flows.

that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
8 day of September, 1999, and adopted thereafter by the following vote:
