RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE APPOINTMENT
OF A BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN COORDINATOR IN DISTRICT 4 OF CALTRANS
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY of BURLINGAME that:
WHEREAS, bicycle and pedestrian needs are an important component of all current
transportation planning, development, and usage; and
WHEREAS, Caltrans District 4 does not currently have a person assigned to ensure that
these needs are properly addressed in planning, development, construction, and operation of
transportation facilities in the Bay Area; and
WHEREAS, such a person could greatly assist local governments, as well as citizens, in
coordinating the bicycle and pedestrian aspects of transportation funding and development,
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved:
1. Caltrans is urged to appoint a person to be the bicycle/pedestrian coordinator for District
4 transportation planning, development, construction, and operation of transportation facilities in the
District.

that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
$ day of September 1999, and adopted thereafter by the following vote:
