RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR FERRY SERVICE FROM OYSTER POINT
MARINA/PARK AT SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco and the San Mateo County Harbor District
have worked together to study the feasibility of providing ferry service at Oyster Point
Marina/Park in South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, their report indicates that such a ferry service could provide a viable
transportation alternative to serve San Francisco and the East Bay; and
WHEREAS, the Bay Area Council is studying the range of alternatives for water transit
in San Francisco Bay; and
WHEREAS, reduction of traffic congestion on the Bayshore Freeway and Highway 280
through alternative transportation would be most welcome; and
WHEREAS, ferry service from Oyster Point Marina/Park would be readily accessible to
a large number of citizens on the Peninsula,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. The City Council of the City of Burlingame hereby endorses water transit services
being provided at Oyster Point Marina, and strongly recommends that the Bay Area Council
Water Transit Services Blue Ribbon Task Committee include that service in its studies and
recommendations.
2. The City Council further encourages other agencies and organizations involved in
transportation planning to work together to move forward on providing ready and reliable water
transit service from and to the Peninsula.

the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 20th
day of JANUARY 1999, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
