HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 029-1999RESOLUTION NO. 29-1999 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME APPROVING FIRST BURLINGAME AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, CITIES OF MENLO PARK, BURLINGAME, AND SAN MATEO, AND THE PENINSULA CORRIDOR JOINT POWERS BOARD REGARDING RESPONSIBILITIES INHERENT WITH A PROJECT TO DESIGN AND INSTALL RUBBERIZED GRADE CROSSINGS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS ALONG THE CALTRAIN COMMUTER RAILROAD TRACKS WITHIN SAN MATEO COUNTY RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame: WHEREAS, on July 1, 1996, in Resolution No. 43-96, the City Council approved funding of improvements to railroad crossings in the City under the Federal Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) that were managed by the City of Redwood City, and the Agreement regarding that funding was executed on January 17, 1997 ("Agreement'); and WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame has contributed approximately $96,000 to the project, which affects four railroad crossings in Burlingame; and WHEREAS, in order to complete the crossing project in Burlingame, and an additional $300,000 is required, and the monies will come from a TEA -21 grant in the amount of $150,000, and the matching $150,000 from the City of Burlingame; and WHEREAS, the improvement of these 4 crossings will greatly enhance traffic safety and convenience for the citizens of the City, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED: 1, The Mayor is authorized and requested to execute the First Burlingame Amendment to the Agreement as contained in Exhibit A hereto. 2. The Clerk is directed to attest to the signature of the Mayor. MAYOR I, JUDTTH A.
