RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
APPROVING PURCHASE OF
VAC -CON COMBINATION SEWER AND STORM DRAIN CLEANER VEHICLE
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY of BURLINGAME that:
WHEREAS, the City needs to purchase a new vactor truck to clean sanitary and storm drain
sewer systems and pump station wet wells; and
WHEREAS, the City examined and tested various types of equipment for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Vac -Con Model V309LHA/1300 Tandem Rear Axle Combination Sewer
and Storm Drain Cleaner tested as the best equipment for City purposes and:
A. It is the only truck to provide a 3 -stage vacuum compressor capable of 200" H2O and 0-
8,000 cfin air movement.
B. The equipment can also be used to vacuum leaf piles and certain excavations without
voiding the warranty.

C. It is the only truck that can be delivered within six (6) months.
D. It is the only equipment that has a 270° swing on the telescopic boom, instead of a 180°
E. The equipment is the only one that can be shut down remotely and immediately by
handheld switch; and
WHEREAS, the City of Atwater has recently purchased a similar truck through a bid
process, and Municipal Maintenance Equipment, the California dealer for Vac -Con, is willing to
offer the truck to the City of Burlingame at the same price as purchased by the City of Atwater; and
WHEREAS, the City has checked with other dealers in Oregon and Arizona, but they are
not able to deliver the equipment for the same or lower price as Municipal Maintenance Equipment
in Sacramento,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that:
1. The purchase of a Vac -Con Model V309LHA/1300 Tandem Rear Axle Combination
Sewer and Storm Drain Cleaner from Municipal Maintenance Equipment is approved.
