PROCEDURE Chairman Mink announced that t-ha Comirijission will exam ne each sec- tion of the document, either approving and recorimending to the City Council as submitted or requesting such modificatior,5 considered appropriate. To accommodate persons in the audience, there was a brief discussion on the zoning and land use map. Mr. David dells, 746 Winchester Drive, owner of four contiguous :dots between Bayswater and Peninsula venues, and bounded by Arundel and Bloomfields Roads, indicated no objection to a suggested change in zoning in the ,area from first residential tc a form of nul'�i -fermi ly residential., Mr. Wells agreed with the proposed uses of land in that district and asked questions relating to possible reclassi Aicati_on in accordance with the map. The hearing proceeded as follows: INTRODUCTION (page 1) In response to Chairman Mink, Mr. Spangle advised than: the Intro- duction is not intended as a pars` of the plan to be adopted. -a COMMUNITY GOALS (pages 3 through S) Amendments were suggested as follows: Page & GOAL 2 "a. Maintain and enhance rational relationships among functional parts of the City (resi•- denti.al areas, business districts, indus- trial areas, public areas, transportation, etc.). Page 8e GOAD.. 4 "c." Maintain the pleasant appearance prevailing in most of the City°s residential areas and improve the visual quality in areas of less satisfactory appearance. Fagg 8. GOAL S I'd." A motion introduced by Commissioner Cis vulli., seconded by Commissioner i,ndi.g and unanimously carried, approved the section as amended. GENERAL ORGANIZATION 0® LAND USES AND} CIRCULATION (pages 9 and 10) Page 96 Commercial Centers Second paragraph, first sentenced Amend to read: "No major changes in use are recommended for t1he Burlingame Pima area." HOUSING ELEMENT, A PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION (rages 29 & -d 30) A motion introduced by Commissioner Kinsligs seconded by Commissioner Cist;ulli and carried uo aniinously approved 1110USUNG EI.EMENTs A PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION, as submitted. The Commission decided to continue the disctassion of the plan at the next regular meeting at which time the revised section on "Circulation" and specific changes in the submitted map will be studied ADJOURNMENT Chairman Mink declared- the hearing curlt9nue,l to June 23, 1969, at 8:00 P.M.
