Commissioner Taylor referred to the subdivision mars recently
approved by the Commission of the land Pd jacent 'to and east of the

width along the north property line for public access to the shore-
line and requested that consideration he given to a similar ease-
ment on the subject property,
The City Planner pointed out that the matter was never discussed
when the subdivision ;nap was processed and the easement may not
legally be made a condition to the -resubdivision map. He sug-
gested that when the map is approved that the minutes include a
recommendation that the City Council pursue the question of a
public access easement with the property owners.
The map was scheduled for. formal hearing at the regular meeting
of June 23, 1969„

The Commission was i.nfoymed that there is an cold single-family
residence at tho front of the property and, to the rear, a four
unit apartment building built in 1957; the owners wish to remove
the residence and build an addition to the apart:rrent building to
make a total of eight units.
The City Planner reported. that there is an existing rear setback
of. 15 feet and that the application for variance resulted when it
was determined that the proposed construction will be more than
two stories in height: -, ndz` must provide 20 feet of rear yard.

requires attention and requested the City Planner to investigate,
The City Planner reported that there are any number of similar
situati-ons throughout the city and that he is hopeful of attending
a meeting of the Cite Beautification Commission soon to discuss the
