Mberts, owner of property at the, Corset of vollins ROM and David Road, spoke of his company's building expansion plans and protested the proposed parking plan, stating that the facility will interfere with the convenience of his property. On the latter's point, discussion indicated that Mr. Roberts' property is not contiguous to the 140 foot drainage right-of-way and that the resubdivision sought by the applicant conforms with code requirements of the City of Burlingame. oaafasioner Brauner advised that his concern was with the detail required by the City Engineer on the improvements proposed for the drainage easement and thereafter roved that the subject natter be continued to the regular meeting of January 22, 1968. Mr. Shea referred to teae intientiea* of neighbors at 1616 Ralston Avenue to install a sawing pool. including a diving board�to extend three feet above ground -level and to relocate a garage, all - 4 - of which shall interfere with his family's use of a picture --windowed bathroom fa6114ty facing -the side wall of the adjoining pr¢perty. A sketch submitted by Mr. Sh*a, reviewed by the Cc=Lissian.- indicated the proposed fence Mould extend a distance of appraKiiwtely thirty- five feet and hidden from view from the roadway. -A question and answer patri9d advised of the set back distances between the lot lines and the swimming pool, swiming pool construction requirements and the limitations in fence heights to conform to code provisions. The Chair recognized Mr. Serge Coutant, the adjoining property owner, who, in clarifying the extension of the diving board as two feet; .rather than three feet above ground level, protested the tan foot high fence, suggesting that an eight foot fence would be acceptable. Oameiasioner arauner, stating that a ten foot fence is "quite out of line with the code6 and if approved would *establish a precedent* suggested that the applicant may install either obscured glass or venetian blinds to obtain the desired privacy. Mr. Curtis introduced Mr. Andy Perrin, associated with the Reliance Electric company, who advised that the.ccmpany is the largest electrical motors distributory factory on the West Coast. in reply to a series of inquiries directed to Mr. Perrin by Oomi"asioner arauner, the foz a confirmed that the sign will serve to advertise the agency. The City Planner reported on the average height of signs erected in this particular area and referred to material studied by the Coomission and snbanitted to Council to determine whether the height limitations are correct.
