RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
EXPRESSING A PREFERENCE FOR ALTERNATIVE F2 IF THE RUNWAYS AT SAN
FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ARE
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, San Francisco International Airport is beginning studies to determine
whether to reconfigure the runways at the airport; and
WHEREAS, the Airport has decided to conduct an environmental review of two
possible alternatives, labeled BX and 172; and
WHEREAS, it appears from the limited information currently available, Alternative F2
would move air traffic further away from properties in Burlingame and Millbrae than Alternative
BX, and thereby have less of a noise impact on these communities;
WHEREAS, while it is too early to evaluate the overall effects and impacts of the
proposed reconfigurations, it may be helpful to express the concerns of the community on
possible effects of the two alternatives,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that given the information currently
available, the City Council of the City of Burlingame prefers Alternative F2 because it appears
that this alternative will have less of a noise impact on Burlingame and Millbrae than Alternative
