HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin - PC - 1963.11.25:f CITY OF BURLINGAME PLANNING COH9,1ISSION COMMISSIONERS PRESENT Brauner Cistulli Edwards Kindig loore Nobbarg Stivers CALL TO ORDER November 25, 1963 COMMISSIONERS ABSENT OTHERS PRESENT None City Attorney Karmel City Planner Mann City Engineer Marr A regular meeting of the Burlingame Planning Commission was called to order on the above date at 8:00 p.m., Chairman Brauner presiding, ROLL CALL All members of the Commission answered the Secretary's roll call. HEARINGS POSTPONED AND MEETING RESCHEDULED, Chairman Brauner referred to the tragic death by assassination of John Fa Kennedy, President of the United States, on Friday, November 22, 1963; to the Executive Proclamation issued by the suc- cessor President, Lyndon B. Johnson, declaring this date, November 2S, 1963, a National Day of Mourning and like proclamations on state and local levels, issued by Glenn M. Anderson, Lieutenant Governor of the State of California and Charlotte .Johnson, Mayor, City of Burlingame. Chairman Brauneed that in view of these circumstances the memb o the Burlingame Planning Commission considered it inappro- priate to conduct the business regularly scheduled for this meeting and would at this time determine a date to which the present meeting would be continued. Commissioners were requested to comment. A suggestion was made that the meeting be continued to the following evening, Tuesday, November 26, 1963. Commissioner Edwards, through the Chair, inquired whether there would be sufficient time to notify persons having applications before the Commission, The City Planner advised that he was reasonably certain that this could be accomplished. The City Atbrney expressed the opinion that a continuance as proposed would be a proper action and any application not heard at the continued meeting could be continued to another date. On a motion introduced by Commissioner Edwards, seconded by Commissioner Kindig and unanimously carried, the meeting was continued ' to Tuesday, November 26, 1963, 8:00 o'clock p.m., City Hall Council Chambers. Commissioner Moore advised the Chair that a business commitment would prevent his attending the adjourned meeting on November 26. By direction of the Chair, the agenda of Commission business for November 25, 1963, was attached to and made a part of these minutes and each and every item on the agenda was continued for hearing to November 26, 19639 at 8:00 o'clock p.m. On a motion introduced by Commissioner Cistulli, regularly seconded and unanimously carried, all in the Council Chambers arose and ob- served one minute of silence in tribute to the lane President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kenrtedyo 'The meeting was thereafter declared adjourned in his memory. TIME OF ADJOURNMENT The meeting was officially adjourned at 8:10 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Edward A.
