Carter Trucking Company - Freight Transfer Yard.
1358 Rollins Road.
An application from Oscar F. Person requested a permit to use a portion
of property owned by Person and Wik Company on Rollins Road as a freight
transfer terminal. The property was identified as 1358 Rollins Road.
(Acreage in the Easton Industrial Subdivision).
A letter dated April 4, 1962, from Carter Trucking Company, accompanying
the application, advised that the property will be leased from Person
and Wik Company for five years with an additional five year option.
The communication stated that facilities at the present site are in-
adequate, causing double parking and traffic congestion on the street
during peak tr ffic hours.
The Planning C resultant advised that Carter Trucking is presently
operating under a use permit approved by the Commission in May, 1960.

The City Engin�er advised that all of the utilities are in place with

The Planning C nsultant mentioned that the original permit for the
location at 1348 Rollins Road was granted to Carter Trucking. Another
firm occupying the premises will require a use permit from the Com-
mission.
The application was scheduled for public hearing on April 23, 1962.
2. VARIANCE -(Smith and Smith Ice Company. Ice Vending Machine.
An application submitted by Smith and Smith Ice Company, Burlingame,
requested a variance to install a 24 Nour Service -Ice Vending Machine
on the premises occupied by the Shell Gasoline Service Station at
Broadway and Laguna Avenue (1199 Broadway).

The lots are ocated on Mitten Road, northerly of Gilbreth Road.

;AM BRIGHAM COMMUNICATION ACKNOWLEDGED.
The Commissio# acknowledged and accepted for filing a copy of a com-
munloation wr tten by Mrs. William Brigham to the City Council ob-
jecting to th boundaries of the proposed parking district and the
expenditure o city funds for acquisition of properties to be in-
cluded in the district.
5. ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS STUDIED.

Proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance were reviewed as follows:
Division 3 Procedure; Division 4 Permits And Licenses; Division 7
Nonconforming Uses; Division 10 Setback Lines.
The Planning gonsultant advised that additional material would be
prepared for nother study session in the near future.
