Roll Call Trustees: Jill Goldsmith, Mark Lucchesi, Elisabeth Ostrow Trustees Absent: Kris Cannon, Danielle Garcia Staff Present: Brad McCulley, City Librarian Sidney Poland, Recorder II. Agenda Items Approved by Trustees A. Approval of January 16, 2024 Minutes B. Approval to fund second payment of AMH III. Library Board of Trustee Minutes The Trustees approved the January 16, 2024 Minutes. M/S/C (Ostrow/Goldsmith) IV. Public Comment No one from the public attended the meeting. V. Correspondence and Information The Trustees reviewed the February statistics and noted that of the 3 sustainability programs, provided by the LSTA Grant, The Repair Caf6 was the most popular with 60 patrons. VI. Reports A. City Librarian's Report • Recruitment in Technical Services for a book mending position is underway and the Circulation Department will soon be recruiting Library Aides and Library Assistants. • Zero Waste has agreed to remove the old AMH machine after the demolition has been completed. B. Silicon Valley Community Foundation Report The City Librarian, Brad McCulley, reviewed the financial statements of the Roger and Jean Hunt Memorial Fund and the Julie M. O'Farrell Memorial Fund with the Trustees. C. Foundation Report • The Foundation members are forming a committee to work on the Lane Room upgrade, • The Foundation is planning to have a Trivia event as a fund raiser in April. VII. Old Business A. AMH March 20th is the date scheduled for demolition of the old AMH. The goal is to have the new AMH up and running by the end of April. The Trustees unanimously approved the motion, at the request of the City Librarian, Brad McCulley, to allocate 100,000.00 from the Roger and Jean Hunt Memorial Fund to fund the second payment for the new AMH. M/S/C (Ostrow/Goldsmith). B. Lane Room Upgrade There is not any current information on the upgrade except that the Foundation is forming a committee to work on the project. C. Library Quote Plaques • The original idea of having quote plaques on the front of the building has changed. • The result of investigating the possibility of quote plaques on the sidewalk in front of the library was determined to be too expensive. • The New idea is too have quotes on rocks in the area where the sculpture by Ray Lorenzato, Offering Site, is located. D. Monthly Focus Topics for Board of Trustees The City Librarian, Brad McCulley, reviewed the schedule for the monthly topics that will be presented by staff members to the Trustees. The March topic will be entitled Equity Diversity Inclusion. E. Future Agenda Items There were not any future agenda items suggested for the March meeting. F. Announcements There were not any announcements. G. Adjournment The meeting closed at 6:30PM. The next meeting of the Library Trustees will be held March 19th at 5:30PM in the Library Conference Room. /s/
