I. Roll Call
Trustees: Kris Cannon, Danielle Garcia, Jill Goldsmith,
Mark Lucchesi, Elisabeth Ostrow
Staff Present: Brad McCulley, City Librarian
Absent: Sidney Poland, Recorder
II. Agenda Items Approved by Trustees
A. Approval of October Minutes
B. Approval of Holiday Schedule
III. Library Board of Trustee Minutes
The Trustees approved the October 17, 2023 Minutes.

IV. Correspondence and Information
Adult Services held 29 programs with an attendance of 149 and the
Children's Dept. held 76 programs with an attendance of 3,611.
V. Reports
A. Presentation by Kathy Von Mayrhauser — Children's Dept. Manager
• Kathy presented a summary to the Trustees that covered a
variety of programs provided to babies (Baby Story Times),
Kindergarten Library Card Drive, Student Success Initiative —
(provides library cards to incoming Freshman), Homework Center
(3 times a week, teen advisors help younger students with class
assignments) to mention just a few.
• Kathy emphasized how dedicated her 4 Librarians are in creating
and implementing their responsibilities, not only in the task of
programming but by working directly with children and parents
during their individual shifts at the children's public desk.
B. City Librarian's Report
The Trustees reviewed the City Librarian's report.
C. Foundation Report
Brad, The City Librarian, advised the Trustees that he has turned in
his financial request for next year but will not know the outcome
until next year.
VI. Old Business
A. AMH —Update
The City Librarian, Brad McCulley, will advise the Trustees when
new information is available.
B. Lane Room Upgrade
There is not any current information at this time.
VII. New Business
A. Library Holiday Schedule for 2024-2025
The Trustee approved the Library Holiday Schedule for 2024-2025.

B. Progressive Discipline Policy
• The Trustees discussed the changes in the Progressive Discipline
Policy that the City Attorney, Michael Guina, required.
• The change that affects the Trustees directly is that they would
no longer be involved in the process of banning a patron. In the
future, Brad, the City Librarian, would initiate the process and
make the decision as to whether a patron should be banned.
• The Trustees had some other thoughts and questions regarding
the changes in the policy and therefore, Brad advised the
Trustees that he would meet with Michael Guina and express
their concerns.
C. Library Quote Plaques
The Trustee discussed the idea of placing plaques on the front of the
main building with various quotes. It will be an agenda item for the
December meeting.
VIII. Announcements
The Trustee briefly discussed the possibility of having an
appreciation luncheon for the staff in January. This idea will be
further discussed at the December Trustee meeting.
IX. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 6:5OPM. The next meeting of the
Library Board of Trustees will be held December 19, 2023 in the
Library Conference Room.
