A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE WIDE AREA TURF MOWER FROM
WESTERN STAR, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $102,082.63
WHEREAS, the Parks Division operates a wide area turf mower to efficiently maintain City
athletic spaces; and
WHEREAS, the current wide area turf mower is 12 years old and in need of replacement
in order to maintain the natural turf areas in the City parks; and
WHEREAS, staff vetted the purchase price through the co-op Sourcewell; and
WHEREAS, the co-op Sourcewell has solicited bidding and awarded the contract to Toro;
and
WHEREAS, the City’s Purchasing and Contracting Procedures Policy (section I.B.4)
allows staff to procure goods from Governmental Purchasing Cooperatives, including Sourcewell,
without having to go through a bidding process; and
WHEREAS, staff requested and received funds to replace the wide area turf mower in the
Parks Division FY 2023-24 Capital Outlay budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
RESOLVES AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council of the City of Burlingame authorizes the purchase of the wide area turf
mower from Western Star, Inc. in the amount of $102,082.63.

I, Meaghan Hassel Shearer, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, certify that the foregoing
Resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 20th day of
November, 2023 and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: BEACH, BROWNRIGG, COLSON, ORTIZ, STEVENSON
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
