RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT
NO. 1 TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AND GOOD CITY COMPANY FOR AN
ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $52,500, WITH A NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF
$142,345, FOR CONTRACT PLANNING SERVICES FOR A LIFE SCIENCES
PROJECT AT 1300 OLD BAYSHORE HIGHWAY IN BURLINGAME
WHEREAS, on March 18, 2022, the City of Burlingame and Good City Company executed
an agreement for contract planning services to process the application for a life sciences project
on a 12-acre project site at 1300 Old Bayshore Highway in Burlingame, in the amount of $89,345;
and
WHEREAS, as the original contract amount was under $100,000, the City Manager was
able to execute the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Consultant has determined that additional work is required in response
to the extended schedule for preparation of the environmental review and associated project
management costs, an added screen check of the draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR),
continued project management, additional biweekly team meetings, and newly added weekly
check-ins with the project sponsor, which represent additional services beyond the scope of the
Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Consultant has prepared a request for additional fees to cover the cost
of the requested services as outlined in the attached Contract Amendment No.1, dated June 22,
2023, for the contract planning services for the project at 1300 Old Bayshore Highway,
Burlingame.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. The City Manager is authorized and directed to enter into Amendment No. 1 to the
Professional Services Agreement with Good City Company, in the form attached hereto,
for contract planning services for the processing of the application for a life science project
at 1300 Old Bayshore Highway, as outlined in the attached Contract Amendment No.1 to
the Agreement for Professional Services dated June 22, 2023, increasing the contracted
amount by $52,500 to a not-to-exceed budget of $142,345 ($89,845 + $52,500).
2. The City Clerk is directed to attest to the signature of the City Manager upon execution of
the Amendment.
