RESOLUTION NO. 073-2023
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO ENTER INTO A PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH JARVIS FAY LLP, FOR LEGAL SERVICES AS
DIRECTED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, the City Attorney’s Office contracts with a number of private firms to
provide legal services for various City functions, including litigation, transactional work,
and general municipal advice and counsel; and
WHEREAS, Jarvis Fay LLP provides legal advice and support on a wide variety
of municipal issues affecting the City of Burlingame; and
WHEREAS, the City’s Purchasing and Contracting Procedures require City
Council approval for any contracts over $100,000; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to ensure the adequate legal support for all
of the City’s functions and operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporated into this
Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. The City Attorney is authorized to enter into a Professional Services
Agreement with Jarvis Fay LLP, for amounts over $100,000, to provide legal services as
directed by the City Attorney.
Section 3. The City Attorney is authorized to take any other related actions
consistent with the intention of this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall become
effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.

certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council
held on the 5th day of June 2023, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers: BEACH, BROWNRIGG, COLSON, ORTIZ, STEVENSON
NOES: Councilmembers: NONE
ABSENT: Councilmembers: NONE
