RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH
THE PENINSULA CONFLICT RESOLUTION CENTER FOR DISPUTE RESOLUTION
SERVICES TO INCREASE THE NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT TO $42,957.82 AND TO
EXTEND THE TERM
WHEREAS, the City first contracted with the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center (PCRC) to
provide dispute resolution services to the City of Burlingame and its community members in 1995;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame is one of many in the county that contracts with PCRC to
provide low-cost community mediation services; and
WHEREAS, the current contract with PCRC expires on June 30, 2023, and the City wishes to
extend the term to June 30, 2024; and
WHEREAS, under the proposed contract, PCRC will provide unlimited, free information and
referral services; mediation services for individuals; additional conflict resolution services, such
as trainings, consultations, mediation of complex situation, and design and facilitation of
community forums; and facilitation of a three-hour community meeting; and
WHEREAS, the contract cost is $21,478.91 for FY 2023-24; and
WHEREAS, staff has included sufficient funding in the City Council’s proposed budget for FY
2023-24 for this contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
The City Manager is authorized to execute a First Amendment to the agreement with the
Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center for dispute resolution, attached hereto as Exhibit A.

foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 5th day of
June, 2023, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers: BEACH, BROWNRIGG, COLSON, ORTIZ, STEVENSON
NOES: Councilmembers: NONE
