A letter dated. March 28, 1950, was read fb om the Burllngame
Bec::eatlon Comrilsslon ::eferring the Councll to a letter recelved
f?om the Burlinganre V111age Improvement Club in vhich the Improve-
ment Club requests that tan bark.be placed anound the play
apparatus ln the park area and that consideration be given to thefenclng along the creek. IblJ.owing Council discusslon on thematter, lt was regularly moved by Counci lman Atwater, that theClty Engineer prodeed wlth the work of fencing the cr.eek vri thLn

18, 1950, calling Councll at'bention to the regulation of the Civil
Servlce Commission which requiies employees of the City to take the
oath of loyalty and wherein the Commlssionrs records lndicate there
are instances of newer employees fa$llng to do sor The City CLerk

who have falled to taire ttre 0ath.
Pursuant to a recotlrnendation submitted by K. S. Fitch, Director of
Public Works, d.ated lr{anch 30, 1950, Councilman Hunt introdueed and.
moved the ad6ptlon of a Resolution, No. 1L-50, accepti.ng the option
of Lr. H. and H. F. L{i13-er, to purchase Lots 5 and 4, Block 5t
Easton Additlon No. 1, in the amount of $21r850.O0 for offstreet
parking, seconded by.Councilman Atwater and adopted unani-urously
by ro11 calI.

of hrblic llllorks, di.recting Counci-l attention to a t::afflc hazard
at the intensecf,ion of ChIpln Avenue and EL Canrino ReaL and recom-
mendlng the removal of a llrge eucalyptus tree, suctr nemoval tb
be ineluded ln the Tree Trlmnlng Project on E1 Camlno Real. The
conmunicatLon was reforred to Park Superlntend,ent Anderson, Dlrec-
tor of hrbIlc Works Fitch and the Plaruring Commlssion to ascertain

with the City. Councj.}nran Slmonds moved that the resj.gnation be
accepted. as recomnended by lvir. Fitch, with a letter of commendation
dlnected to Mr. Wynstra for his years of loyalty and service to
the Clty, seconded by Councilman Hunt and unanimously carried.

secretary of the Henbert Hoover P.f.A.r requestlng that an inves-
tlgation be made of the serious menace of poisor-oak ln the viclnity
of the }loover School and acti-on be taken for its romedy. The
communication was referred to the City Engineer with instructions
to confer wlth the Superlntendent of Schools and to take whatever
actlon is neeessary to comect the condition. The Clerk v;as
instructed. to reply to tho letter.
