Legion, addressed the Councl I and on behalf of the Leglon,
requostod__that the Clty of Burllngame dlsplay lts flags on
'tFlag Dayrr June 14. Mayor Atwatei requested-that the Chamber of
Conmerce, the tr'lre Department, the ?olice Department and as many
of,hor groups as possible, dlsplay flags on that day.
Pursuant to a discussion on the possiblllty of ostabllshlng a local
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Anlnals in conJunctlonwith surroundir:g cities, Ivlayor Atwater appointed Councllman Love
and C ouncl l-man Byrd to serve as a Councif fact-flndlng cornmittee.
Mayor Atwater urged the members of the Chamber of Commerce as well
as the citlzens of Burlingame to wire Assemblyman Rlchard Dolwig,
iequesting hls fu11 support in the passage of Assembly 8111
No. 5217, whlch, if succossful, would ellminate the county subsldyof muni cipa} type services to urban unincorporated areas.
