ed that ln hls oplnlon the proposal as provlded 1n the ondlnanee wouldnot be a solutlon to the pnoblem.
In reply to Mr. ALoise, Counellman Byrd stated that it has been d,eter-
mlned, that there would be thlttty-one less parklng meters on Broadway,
but the proposal would create permanent commerclal vehleLe zones and
provlde more parklng space for shoppers.
Mr. AloLse and Mn. W. D. Ilalnes, the latter with a buslness located at
1450 Broad.way, both stated that the proposal would be ln confllet wLth

Councllman Morgan advised that the proposed ordlnance w&s motlvated by
a recommend.atlon submLtted by the Broadway Development Assoclatlon and

Councllman Love expressed the opLnlon that ln view of the two opposlngpetltlons, the CouncLl should consld.er both and suggested. that the mat-ter be held for furthen lnvestlgatlon.
