RESOLUTION NO. 020-2023
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME APPROVING AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY LIBRARIAN TO PREAPPROVE PURCHASES UP TO $5,000 FUNDED
BY THE TRUSTEE BOARD DUNCAN TRUST
WHEREAS, the Library Trustee Board is the fiduciary of the Duncan Trust bequeathed for the
benefit of the Burlingame Public Library; and
WHEREAS, the Board periodically funds basic and common materials for the Library at the
request of the City Librarian; and
WHEREAS, these requests fall into four main categories — collections, events/services, facilities,
and staff support; and
WHEREAS, should a request fall into one or more of these categories, the City Librarian has the
authority to preapprove the purchase; and
WHEREAS, the limit to a pre -approved purchase will not exceed $5,000 for any one purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
The City Council hereby authorizes the City Librarian to request funds directly from the
Duncan Trust for the purchase of goods and/or materials which fall into one or more of the
above categories, up to $5,000 per item / event.

I, Meaghan Hassel -Shearer, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, do hereby certify that the
foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 6t" day of
March, 2023, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers: BEACH, BROWNRIGG, COLSON, ORTIZ, STEVENSON
NOES: Councilmembers: NONE
ABSENT: Councilmembers: NONE
