Retlrlng Mayor SLmonds turned. the gavel over to Vlce-Mayor Love and
the newly elected. Councllmen accepted thelr offl-ces.
Each Councllman ln turn, spoke approp:rlate words of appreclation toretlred Mayor Simonds and Councllman Byrd. presented a glft to Mr.
Simondsr orr behalf of ttre Councll. Mr. Slmonds volced hls pleasure
fon having been glven an oppol3tunity to be of servlce to the Clty and
expressed hls d.esire to contlnue hls lnterest 1n the welfare of theCity of Bunlingame.
Councllman Byrd and. Cor:ncilman Rooth eaeLr expressed kris appreclatlonto the electonate of the City fon their vote of confldence.
A motlon to adJourn, lntnoduced by Councilman Byrd, failed for lackof a second. Vlee-Mayon Love thereupon called for a ro11 ea11 of
Councll membe:rs to galn thelr speclal eonsent to meet for tb.e purpose
of sOlectlng one of its members fon Mayor and Vlce-Mayor for the en-suing'tenm. Councilman Morgan inquired from Aetlng Clty Attorrrey
whether the menrbers could 1ega1ly vote on the question, to whlch theActlng Clty Attorrey replled affirmatlvely. Ro11 call was as follows:
