Rooth - Budget Committee Chairman Uayor Rooth read from a prepared report, dated July 16, l-956, recomrnend- Lng the ad.optlon of the clty budget of $111591948 for the fiscal year 1956-1957. CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCES In rep)-y, ChaLrrnan Prlce advLsed that, although not fardllan wlth tlcofinanclal struc ture of tho city, the suggestLon was advanced. that e commLttee of employeos. confBr wlth a Councll committoe to study rays and means to lncroase tho financlal status of the clty. Councllman Theyer, ngnber of the Counclf Budget Commlttee, also commonted on the shortage of funds and exprsssed regret at the lnabllltyof the Councll to gnant enpJ-oyee wage lncreases. Councilnen Thayer con- curred wlth the prevlous statements tbat the matter be pb ced before the voters.
