inconpor.ated into th:e 1955 Butldlng Code and lt was necomnended that
an examLnatlon be made of the 19h9 Bullding Code curnently ineffect, partlcularly Sectlon 5O5-A.
Cyrus J. McMi11an, Attorneyr repnesentlng.a loce1 bulldlng firm,
infonmed the Councll that Sectlon 505-A of the Buildlng Code ls
presentlng a problem to the builders because of the r"estrlctlon
on the slze of the rooms per.missable l-n an apantment buildlng.It was the suggestlon of Mr.. Mclll11an that conslderatlon be gLven
f fu,st to anendlng Sectlon 5o5-A and subsequently to amend other
sectlons of the 19U9 Bulldlng Code.
The Clty Attorney and the Cttli Manager were nequested to revlew the
Bulldlng Code and lf, ln theL:: oplnlon, amendments rrere Justlfled, that
an appnopnlate ord ina:nce be pnesented at the next regular meetlng.

RECONSTRUCTION OF BROADh'AY SOUTHERN PACIFTC CROSSING
A conmrunlcatlon dated Aprl1 12, 1957, from the City Managen, advlsedthat the Souther.n Paclflc. Ral lnoad proposed to lmprove and to re-

It was the necommendatlon of the Clty Msngg6r that the most advlseable
method to pr.oceed wlth the proJect would be to block the crosslng
on three separate Satur:days fnom 8:10 a.m. to l:00 p.n.
The Councll concurred and the Clty Managen uas requested to so notlfythe Southern Paclflc Company and to further apprise the FL"e Department
of the pnoposed lmprovement.
