ously approvod on motion of Councilman lrfio?gan and seconded by
Councilman Jolrnson.

The Chalr annormced that a comrr.rnl catl on dated January 9, 1957, had
been recelved from the appllcalt requesting that the petltlon be
wi thdrawn.
Councllman Thayor referred to the number of comnunlcstlons roceLved.in protest to the proposal to lnsta11 park-tyi)e benches and requestedthat each be nead.
The Chalr ruled that lnasmuch as the petitlon has been wi thalrawn lt
was not necessary to proceod with the reading of communL catl,ons .

A letter dated January 17, 1957, was read from the Clty Manager,
lnforming the Council that the Flro Chlef has roquosted that a
change be enacted 1n Ordlnance No. 537 to aI1ow a grsater storage
of lnflammables 1n servLce statlons. The comrmrnlcatLon noted that
a greater safety ln the hand.ling of inflammable llquids and the
filltng of underground tanks would result.

system ordlnance and rules rocommended by the League of CallfonnlaClties sha11 be used as a guide.
